Not like store bought Aug 29, 2010 I bought this buttermilk at the same time I bought Bob's Non-Fat Dry Milk. They both came in the same box in a few days. I don't use buttermilk other than for cooking, but it seems you have to make a trip to the store if you need some, or plan ahead. It tastes reasonably close to the store-bought variety, but is not that thick oozy stuff that comes from the store. So far I have used it to marinate chicken and it seems to work great, and augment or replace regular milk in other recipes. Seem fine. The plan is it check it out as a scratch mix substitute for store bought box mixes and dressings, but first I have to use up the store box mixes and dressing. The four bags from Amazon may last quite a while, but according to Bob's shelf life specifications, it should be fine.
Powdered Buttermilk Jun 17, 2010 I ordered one pkg of Bob's Red Mill Buttermilk Powder a couple of months ago to try it. I love it. I can make as much as I need for baking, whenever I need it. I don't have to throw out soured milk that I purchased from the store, and didn't use in time. Taste's great, too. So, this time I bought several packages to store.

Bob's Red Mill Powder Buttermilk Sep 06, 2008 Great stuff. I always have it on hand for cooking anything that calls for buttermilk.

Does this product contain Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH)!?? Jul 28, 2007 Where does this milk powder come from? Bob's Red Mill grinds flour in the Northwest but many of their products are "packaged" at their location but are not made there.
This buttermilk powder did nothing for me. It didn't make a better biscuit or waffle and it made my loaf bread less tasty than if I had used regular milk powder. This wasn't a successful product for me and I still have not finished the first package. I won't restock it when/if I run out of it.
