Worst instant soup I've ever had Jul 12, 2010 This soup is horrible. Nothing at all like Chinese restaurant hot and sour soup. It is thin, has a funny taste, and isn't sour at all. I couldn't eat it when prepared as directed. I had to doctor it up by thickening it with cornstarch, adding sesame oil, adding some thin strips of wood ear mushroom and seaweed, and stirring in some beaten egg. I had to add more white pepper and vinegar. At $2.99 a package, that's $1 per serving. What a waste of money. I can go across the street to my little whole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant and get 1.5 pints of their soup for $1.89. This horrible product doesn't even deserve the one-star rating I gave it.

Tastes Bad? Jul 10, 2009 TRUST ME....Believe the reviewer who says that this soup tastes like a cup of hot water and pepper. Except, a single serving is only 2/3rds of a cup. The soup has no body. It is thin and tasteless except for the hot pepper. I am not a finicky eater but this is bad. A waste of your money! The delivery of this "soup" was fast and my delivering it to the DUMPSTER was even faster. I have purchased dozens and dozens of products from Amazon. In my lifetime, how many negative reviews have I written here or on any other site? ZERO! Shopping online can be risky but all-in-all I have had pretty good luck and found sellers to be fair. However, this time, I was robbed! My guess is that those folks writing a positive review are linked to the seller. Mishima Instant Hot and Sour Soup is bad.

Fantastic mix Mar 22, 2009 I actually haven't purchased the package on this page, but I did recently acquire a three pack of Mishima's hot and sour soup mix, so I thought I'd leave a review. The person who called it liquid pepper must have gotten a bad batch or something, because there's much more here than just pepper. Dried tofu, mushrooms, and green onions, to name a few things. If you like hot and sour soup, get yourself some of this. It's glorious!
If you think it's too spicy, you can always add either more water or, perhaps a bit less practically, extra ingredients like fresh tofu, meat, noodles and beansprouts. I highly recommend this soup powder.

Great afternoon pick-me-up Apr 22, 2008 i don't know how the last reviewer got that this is all pepper... the ingredient of pepper is WAY down on the list of ingredients.
i always find myself craving something savory as a snack, and to stop myself from grabbing more chips or chex mix from the office pantry, i like to make a little cup of this soup to satiate me.
i think it's a perfect mix of hot and sour. it's not much else, hot and sour soups in general is just broth that hot and sour (plus veggies and meat that u won't find here). it satisfies my craving and is only 20 calories.
the amazon price is kinda steep... even regular grocery stores have cheaper prices for single packs.

Liquid Pepper Mar 08, 2008 If you like liquid black pepper you will love this soup. I dont like drinking liquid pepper and have no idea how I'm goig to use the rest of this bad product. Trust me , boil water and dump in the contents of you pepper shaker into it and youve got their Hot and Sour soup.
