Good stuff Sep 14, 2009 I think this is a great quick fix meal. It tastes very good, and maybe not as spicy as the Indian restaurant but still nice. I serve this with Kitchens of India Paste for Butter Chicken Curry, 3.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) and Naan. SO EASY.

Tasty, Tasty Bite Oct 14, 2008 This is nothing like the fresh Indian restaurant Spinach Dal but it sure is a great quick lunch. Could use more flavor.

Vegan Natural Kosher Choice Aug 08, 2007 Vegan. All natural. Kosher. Spinach and lentils with basmati rice. Spinach (palak) is a very popular and important veggie in Indian cuisine. Many vegetarians or vegans on the subcontinent also eat lentils (dal) every day, or nearly every day. This dish is a core combination and comes with rice. It is also not very spicy at all, Indian mild. A good choice for tender vegan or vegetarian taste buds that may not be just yet ready for the more hard core spicy delights of some Indian food choices, but would like a good starter choice. I give this dish only four stars because the spinach is quite blended which takes away from how I prefer it. The lentils are good and the rice is very long grain and high quality. Indian foodies will also appreciate it as just a good basic quick and easy dish. Not as good as ama's (mom's), but good enough to eat and be happy about. If you have any achar (Indian pickle) or mirchi (chilis) in the house, you can add to taste. Tasty Bite Yellow Curry Vegetables & Jasmine Rice, 12-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6), Tasty Bite Entrée, Bengal Lentils, 10 Ounce Packet (Pack of 12), and Tasty Bite Entrée, Punjab Eggplant, 10-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12) are highly recommended, but spicier. My least favorite Tasty Bite Indian ready meal Aug 20, 2006 This is my least favorite Tasty Bite Indian ready meal. It is bland and uninspired. It is eatable, but with all the finer choices available, I suspect my remaining packets will find their way to a charity food drive.
